1. Data protection at a glance

General notes

The following information provides a simple overview of what happens to your personal data when you visit this website. Personal data includes all data with which you can be personally identified. You will find detailed information on the subject of data protection in my privacy policy provided below this text.

Data collection on this website

Who is responsible for data collection on this website?

The data processing on this website is carried out by the website operator. Contact details can be found in section 3 of this policy.

How is your data collected?

As a general rule, you are not required to provide personal data while using my website.

On the one hand, your data is collected when you disclose it to me. This can be data that you communicate to me by e-mail, for example.

Other data is automatically collected by the IT systems when you visit the website. This is mainly technical data (e.g. Internet browser, operating system or time of the page impression). This data is collected automatically when you enter this website.

What is your data used for?

Some of the data is collected to ensure that the website is provided without errors.

What rights do you have regarding your data?

You have the right to receive information about the origin, recipient and purpose of your stored personal data free of charge at any time. You also have the right to request the correction or deletion of this data. If you have given your consent to data processing, you can revoke this consent for the future at any time. You also have the right, under certain circumstances, to request that the processing of your personal data be restricted.

Furthermore, you have a right of appeal to the relevant supervisory authority.

In this regard and for any further questions you may have about data protection, you can contact me at any time at the address given in section 3.

2. Hosting and Content Delivery Networks (CDN)

External hosting

This website is hosted by an external service provider (hoster). The personal data collected on this website is stored on the hoster's servers. This may include, but is not limited to, IP addresses, meta data, website access and other data generated by a website.

The hoster is used to ensure the secure, fast and efficient provision of my on-line service by a professional provider (art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR).

The hoster will only process your data to the extent necessary to fulfil its performance obligations and will follow my instructions with regard to this data.

My website is hosted on the Wix.com platform. Wix.com provides me with the on-line platform on which I present my services. Your data may be stored via the Wix.com data storage, databases and general Wix.com applications. They store your data on secure servers behind a firewall.

Data Processing Agreement (DPA)

To ensure that processing is compliant with data protection legislation, there is a data processing agreement between me as a user and Wix as a hoster.

The DPA is a public and binding document between Wix and its users, in which each party undertakes to process personal data only within the purposes and instructions specified therein.

3. General notes and mandatory information

Data protection

The operator of this website takes the protection of your personal data very seriously. Your personal data will be treated confidentially and in accordance with the legal data protection regulations and this privacy policy.

When you use this website, different types of personal data are collected.

Personal data is data with which you can be personally identified. This privacy policy explains which data is collected and what it is used for. It also explains how this is done and for what purpose.

I would like to point out that data transmission on the Internet (e.g. when communicating by e-mail) can generally involve security vulnerabilities. It is not possible to guarantee complete protection of the data against access by third parties.

Note on the controller

The controller responsible for data processing on this website is

La Toya Vaughn

La:va Language Services

Aspenweg 7

67433 Neustadt an der Weinstraße

Germany

Phone: +49 1573 3990661

E-mail: mail@lava-language-services.de

The controller is the natural or legal person who alone or jointly with others determines the purposes and means of the processing of personal data (e.g. names, e-mail addresses, etc.).

Revocation of your consent to data processing

Many data processing operations are only possible with your express consent. You can revoke your previously issued consent at any time. Simply send me an informal message by e-mail.

The legality of the data processing carried out up to the point of revocation remains unaffected by the revocation.

Right to object to data collection in special cases and to direct advertising (art. 21 GDPR)

If the data processing is carried out on the basis of art. 6 para. 1 lit. e or f GDPR, you have the right to object to the processing of your personal data at any time for reasons arising from your particular situation; this also applies to profiling based on these provisions. The respective legal basis on which processing is based can be found in this privacy policy. If you object, I will no longer process your personal data concerned, unless I can prove compelling reasons for processing which are worthy of protection and which outweigh your interests, rights and freedoms or if the processing serves to assert, exercise or defend legal claims (objection according to art. 21 para. 1 GDPR).

Where your personal data is processed for the purpose of direct marketing, you have the right to object at any time to the processing of personal data concerning you for the purpose of such marketing, including profiling, insofar as it is related to such direct marketing. If you object, your personal data will subsequently no longer be used for the purpose of direct advertising (objection according to art. 21 para. 2 GDPR).

Right of appeal to the competent supervisory authority

In the event of violations of data protection law, the person concerned has a right of appeal to the competent supervisory authority. The competent supervisory authority in data protection matters is the State Data Protection Commissioner of the federal state in which my company is based.

Right to data portability

You have the right to have data which I process automatically on the basis of your consent or in fulfilment of a contract handed over to you or to a third party in a common, machine-readable format. If you request the direct transfer of the data to another controller, this will only take place as far as it is technically feasible.

SSL or TLS encryption

This site uses SSL encryption for security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, such as requests you send to me in my capacity as the site operator.

You can recognise an encrypted connection by the fact that the address line of the browser changes from "http://" to "https://", and by the lock symbol in your browser line.

If SSL encryption is activated, the data you transmit to me cannot be read by third parties.

Access, deletion and correction

Within the framework of the applicable legal provisions, you have the right to obtain information free of charge at any time about your stored personal data, its origin and recipients and the purpose of the data processing and, if applicable, a right to correct or delete this data. In this regard and for any further questions you may have about personal data, you can contact me at any time under the address given above.

Right to restrict processing

You have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data.

To do so, you can contact me at any time under the address given above. The right to restrict processing exists in the following cases:

If you dispute the accuracy of your personal data stored with me, I usually need time to verify this. For the duration of the audit, you have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data.

If the processing of your personal data was/is carried out unlawfully, you may request the restriction of data processing instead of deletion.

If I no longer need your personal data, but you need it to exercise, defend or assert legal claims, you have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data instead of deletion.

If you have lodged an objection under art. 21 para. 1 GDPR, a balance must be struck between your interests and mine. As long as it is not yet clear whose interests prevail, you have the right to request that the processing of your personal data be restricted.

If you have restricted the processing of your personal data, this data – apart from its storage – may only be processed with your consent or for the purpose of asserting, exercising or defending legal claims or protecting the rights of another natural or legal person or for reasons of an important public interest of the European Union or a Member State.

Objection to advertising e-mails

I hereby object to the use of contact data published within the scope of the legal notice to send advertising and information material not expressly requested. The operator of the site expressly reserves the right to take legal action in the event of the unsolicited sending of advertising information, such as through spam e-mails.

4. Data collection on this website

As a general rule, you are not required to provide personal data while using my website. However, in order for me to provide my services, I usually need your personal data (e.g. for sending a quotation or for offering professional advice).

I only collect personal data if and to the extent that you provide it to me with your knowledge. In particular, this personal data will only be used for the purpose of preparing quotations, providing advice and fulfilling orders for my services if you have expressly given your consent. You give me this consent, for example, by sending me an enquiry.

When you place an order, I only collect, process and store your personal data as far as it is necessary for the provision of the service, the execution of the contract or the handling and assertion of claims (invoicing). The data processed usually involves:

  • Inventory data, e.g. name and address

  • Contact information, e.g. e-mail address and phone number

  • Content data, i.e. the files sent to me for processing

Other data is automatically collected when you visit my website. This is mainly technical data, e.g. about your Internet browser or the time of the page impression (usage data and meta/communication data). I collect, process and use personal data about the use of my website only to the extent necessary to enable the user to use the service.

Cookies

My website uses "cookies". Cookies are small text files and do not cause any damage on your terminal device. They are either stored temporarily for the duration of a session (session cookies) or permanently (persistent cookies) on your terminal device. Session cookies are automatically deleted at the end of your visit. Persistent cookies remain stored on your terminal device until you delete them yourself or they are automatic deleted by your web browser.

Cookies have various functions. Many cookies are technically necessary, as certain website functions would not function without them.

Cookies that are required to carry out the electronic communication process (necessary cookies) or to provide certain functions requested by you (functional cookies) or to optimise the website (e.g. cookies to measure the web audience) are stored on the basis of art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR unless another legal basis is given. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the storage of cookies for the technically error-free and optimised provision of her services.

You can set your browser so that you are informed about the setting of cookies and can allow cookies only in individual cases, exclude the acceptance of cookies for certain cases or in general and activate the automatic deletion of cookies when you close the browser. If you disable cookies, the functionality of this website may be limited.

As far as cookies from third-party companies or for analysis purposes are used, I will inform you separately about this within the scope of this privacy policy and, if necessary, request your consent.

Server log files

The provider of the website automatically collects and stores information in server log files, which your browser automatically sends to site operator. These are:

Browser type and browser version,

Operating system,

Referrer URL,

Host name of the accessing computer,

Time of the server request,

IP address.

This data is not merged with other data sources.

This data is collected on the basis of art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the technically error-free presentation and optimisation of his website. For this purpose, the server log files must be recorded.

Enquiry by e-mail, telephone or fax

If you contact me by e-mail or telephone, your enquiry including all personal data (e.g. name, e-mail) will be stored and processed by me for the purpose of processing your request. I will not pass on this data without your consent.

This data is processed on the basis of art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR if your enquiry is related to the fulfilment of a contract or is necessary for the implementation of pre-contractual measures. In all other cases, the processing is based on my legitimate interest in the effective processing of the enquiries addressed to me (art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR) or on your consent (art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR), provided that such consent has been requested.

The data you send to me via contact requests will remain with me until you request me to delete it, revoke your consent for storage or the purpose for which the data was stored ceases to apply (e.g. after your request has been processed). Mandatory statutory provisions – in particular statutory retention periods – remain unaffected.

My website contains links to other websites. I have no influence on whether their operators comply with the data protection regulations.
